Exactly! I was going to add that in. By the time they made that choice, it was too late to go back to the 3-hours on zoom. :( I heard that from the English Department faculty.

I'm in India and 1st year PhD student. It's unfortunate that I haven't been able to attend in-person. But at least life isn't on pause like the world is because of COVID. Even though it's a lot of screen time, it has been a smooth transition.

Math is harder to teach online. I am having a harder time trying to get access to the softwares that I need for teaching so have been making modifications accordingly.

Zoom has a whiteboard feature that educators could use.

Is every stats class being taught at CGU this semester utilizing the whiteboard on zoom (i.e. uses an iPad or other form of touchscreen)?

I teach analytics, I use an iPad and prepped codes to have students learn about the stat.

Also work with IT to get the software access along with looking for free tools to assist the learning.

I'm taking Biostats, we don't use whiteboard. We study through PPTs and the professor uses screen share for SPSS

Lecturing stats at CPP this semester, completed CGU coursework fall 2017. I dont have a touch screen at for the time being and end up using a document of sorts to work problems & use blank paper to draw graphs and subsequently upload images online.

If anyone needs software access, check with Helpdesk and see if they can help you. I am getting access to the softwares I need through Remote Desktop.

Wanted to see what additional methodologies were being promoted in CGU courses this semester. All of this info is such appreciated. Thank yall!! Also, I feel for you all having cut class times. I have been encouraging my own students to utilize office hours because that is what they are there for.

Because of the time difference, I'm not as involved at home. But I don't work on my assignments or study till everybody is done with dinner which I've taken up as my responsibility.So I've segregated night time till early morning for studying, which means absolutely no disturbance except for occasional snores. So that strategy is working in managing my time.I have PFF class and its great for managing time- because assignments and pre-class work is circumstantial, necessary but circumstantial

@Annette I learn better with audio while I read along to keep me from distracting, so that helps a lot!

So you have Natural Voice read your own papers back to you?

Audible has an affordable student rate and you receive a free book monthly.

The Los Angeles Public Library has tons of ebooks and audio books, too.
