Has anyone tried Zoom study groups in their classroom? Did they work?
Michelle DeJohnette
01:10:53
I have used Zoom discussions, but not study groups
Amin Nash
01:12:47
What are some tips for conducting surveys? Should they be for individual students or for the class as a whole?
Jessica Jones
01:12:58
@Steven: It works for me as long as the students have some sort of specific deliverable (they have to come back with plan, research, etc).
Steven Newbold
01:13:20
I have used Zoom discussions as well. Almost like an office hour but for the whole class. That worked really well.
Cristal Almonte
01:14:41
@ Steven: You could create a recurring meeting that you all agree might be a space students can come together to bounce ideas. This may help if students don’t have access to their own zoom. If they have access to zoom, you could have them forms groups in class and set up a date/time to meet as well as a zoom link.
Amin Nash
01:15:23
I liked your point about “nudging” the student, and sometimes I think an individual survey to the student helps the facilitator understand what they want to improve
Amin Nash
01:15:30
Instead of “asking” what they want to work on
Dong Hoang
01:15:41
For success, all group meetings need to have purposes. Who sets the purposes? That is important
